Horizontal Fern with Keum-boo Necklace
The fern part of this necklace was made from a mold that I have made from an actual fern plant. It was made with metal silver clay and fired in the kiln. After polishing the edges, it was soldered to the round silver wire, and hung from two chain segments. The chains close in the back via a silver lobster clasp. The last process was to add 24K gold leaf to the tips on one edge, then patinate with liver of sulfur.
It hangs like a bar necklace just below the neck.
Bar length is 3 1/4” and the total necklace length 19”.
